Monetary Policy Implementation Committee

The Monetary Policy Committee was formed in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 of Decree No. 21 of 2001, amending the law regulating the work of the Central Bank of Syria and Basic Monetary System No. 23 of 2003. This committee aims to provide the required technical assistance and advice to the Monetary and Credit Council to enhance its ability to develop a Monetary policy strategy, and monitor its implementation. This is achieved by submitting a set of recommendations, opinions, solutions, and proposals to the Monetary and Credit Council to ensure the achievement of the final and intermediate objectives of the monetary policy.

The Supervision Committee for Official Foreign Reserves

The Supervision Committee for Official Foreign Reserves was formed in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 of Decree No. 21 of 2001, amending the law regulating the work of the Central Bank of Syria and the Basic Monetary System No. 23 of 2003. This committee aims to provide the required technical assistance and advice to the Monetary and Credit Council to enhance its ability to develop an official foreign reserves investment strategy and formulate a policy for investing the aforementioned reserves. The purpose is to determine their priorities and the financial instruments eligible for investment according to high-quality financial standards, and ensure an alignment between achieving a high degree of safety and liquidity and an acceptable return. This is, in addition to, periodically reviewing and evaluating the performance of the investment portfolio.

The Supervision Committee for Banks and Financial Institutions Subject to the Supervision of the Monetary and Credit Council

The Supervision Committee for Banks and Financial Institutions subject to the supervision of the Monetary and Credit Council was formed in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 of Decree No. 21 of 2001, amending the law regulating the work of the Central Bank of Syria and Basic Monetary System No. 23 of 2003. This committee aims to provide the required technical assistance and advice to the Monetary and Credit Council. The purpose is to enhance its ability to exercise its role in supporting the stability of the banking and financial sector and improving its performance. The committee carries out its tasks in the field of supervision, regulation and oversight at the overall level of the banking sector.
